On March 4, 2022, FSCT’s supervisors and staffs participated in the Virtual Study Visit Program hosted by Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) and the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN)featuring Chandragiri Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (Chandragiri SACCOS).The program included video and PowerPoint presentations, interviews with members and tours around the community where the cooperative operates and also provided Asian credit union leaders and professionals with the opportunity to exchange and learn best practices.
Chandragiri Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd, abbreviated as Chandragiri SACCOS, is a community-based member owned cooperative organization established on January 6, 2001, by a group of 25 generous residents including unsalaried, peasants and social activists of Mahadevsthan VDC and its adjacent areas of the federal capital Kathmandu. Later, it was registered under cooperative act 1991 at the Division Cooperative Office, Kathmandu on April 19, 2001. The purpose of establishing the credit co-operative society was to fight against long standing poverty that existed in the area and enhance mutuality through corporatism. It is in the northern part of Chandragiri hill of Kathmandu District. It has covered Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Dhading district as its working area and is operating 4 service centres. They have been providing a wide range of financial and other services to their members to uplift the socio-economic status of their life. Currently, Chandragiri is offering 14 saving products, 19 loan products, and 6 member social security programs and other services. The vision is “Sustainable SACCOS, Happy and Prosperous Member”. The mission is “Uplift the living standard of member through financial and other services as well as social security programs using advanced technology and innovative process accordance of international credit union principles. The feature of Chandragiri SACCOS are as below.

3. Morning Evening Service from 8 AM to 7 PM
4. Member Social Securities, Ambulance and Hearse Service
5. Digital Services; ATM, Mobile Banking, KIOSK Banking etc.
