Research on SACCO/CU in Thailand by Norinchukin Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Mr. Shinya Furue, Chief Economist in Economic, Finance & Investment Research Division of Norinchukin Research Institute Co., Ltd.in Japan who is studying Cooperative and Financial Institute in Japan, and dynamism and history of Japan Credit Union Movement. And now he would like to focus on a research of the Asian SACCO/CU Movement. He has studied about Korean Credit Unions (National Credit Union Federation of Korea: NACUFOK and primary Credit Unions) in 2015 and Taiwanese Credit Unions (Credit Union League of the Republic of China: CULROC and primary Credit Unions) in 2016. This year, he would like to study SACCO/CU Movement in Thailand for publishing his article.
Therefore, he travelled to Thailand on October 2-6, 2017 and requested to visit FCST and primary cooperative on October 4. FSCT was very much pleasure to accept the request and also organized the visit to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited (EGAT SACCO) in the afternoon. This is the great opportunity for FSCT, EGAT SACCO as well as Norinchukin Research Institute Co., Ltd. to exchange the information on SACCO/CU Movement in Thailand and Japan. We are very happy and wish he will complete his article as he intends to.
